Q. What is "The Stansted Taxi Company"?
A. "The Stansted Taxi Company" is a specialist Hackney Carriage Taxi Company that ONLY provides taxi transfers to or from Airports and Cruise Terminals. (WE ARE NOT A MINI CAB COMPANY)
Q. What is the difference between a Taxi Company and a Mini Cab Company?
A. A Taxi Company (like ours) has a pre-booking system, each individual transfer is allotted a driver in advance. The driver will have no other work immediately prior to or after the transfer. A Mini Cab Company generally "fits in" other work around the time of the transfer. This could lead to the driver being late or in a hurry to fulfil the next booking.
Q. What area do you cover?
A. Anywhere on UK mainland.
Q. What type of vehicles do you have?
A. Saloon cars for up to 4 passengers, people carriers for up to 5 passengers and Mini Buses for up to 8 passengers.
Q. Are there any extra charges?
A. No. The price we quote includes car parking and any waiting time, our motto is "What we quote is what you pay".
Q. What if the flight is delayed or early?
A. We are based close to Stansted Airport and monitor the flights constantly so there is no need to worry.
Q. What happens if the flight is cancelled?
A. Contact us as soon as possible by e-mail or telephone. If you notify us at least one hour prior the scheduled landing time there is no charge. We reserve the right to charge 50% of the quoted taxi fare should you fail to notify us within this time.
Q. Are your prices per car or per person?
A. Prices quoted are for the car, we do not operate a taxi share scheme.
Q. Where do passengers meet the driver at the airport?
A. Pick up arrangements will be sent with your booking confirmation.
Q. How do I make a booking?
A. Just fill in your details online or you can call us on 44 (0) 1279 888050. If you have received a quotation from us by e-mail, please send us your details as requested.
Q. How will I know if the taxi is booked?
A. We always send a taxi booking confirmation by e-mail. For transfers from Airports this will include pick-up arrangements. We also send confirmation by text message to a mobile phone if the passengers are unable to collect e-mail.
